Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Economic Development Specialist to support our mission of fostering sustainable growth across west central Nebraska. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in identifying economic opportunities, securing funding for projects, and implementing initiatives that strengthen our rural communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement economic development strategies tailored to the unique needs of rural Nebraska communities

• Research and prepare grant applications to secure funding for community development projects

• Provide technical assistance to local governments and businesses on economic development matters

• Coordinate with state and federal agencies to leverage resources for regional development

• Analyze economic data to identify trends and opportunities for growth

• Facilitate community engagement and build consensus among diverse stakeholders

• Represent the organization at regional meetings and economic development forums

 

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of grant writing and administration processes

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Ability to analyze complex economic data and translate findings into actionable strategies

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local development programs and funding sources

• Experience working with rural communities preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and relevant economic development software
